- About Us
- Become A Tutor
A majority of the primary students we work with are in Key Stage 2 (Year 3-6). What’s vital with these younger students is to enthuse and engage, make learning fun but with a specific goal in mind. More than any other student group, parents are concerned that the tuition will not land positively as children are not aware of, or engaged with what’s going to happen at school in future. Also, these younger children are often hugely busy with all kinds of after-school clubs and activities that, on the surface, seem a much better option for the average 9-year old than doing more Maths at home. So it’s brilliant when we hear such fantastic positive feedback from parents like these below – it shows us we’re doing our job well.
“Many thanks for this latest session report. I hope that Lara also told you that Amber is doing so much better with her maths that she was moved up a maths group at school this week! So, fantastic work by Lara. She has already made a huge difference and Amber’s confidence and enthusiasm with things mathematical has increased significantly”
“Flexible tutoring and very understanding tutor who really listened to our needs. My son bonded so well with her and was sad to say goodbye.”

“Professional, friendly service provided. We really feel our latest tutor is making a difference to our child’s confidence. Thank you.”
“Thank you for the report. We’re just back from school, where we had an early morning meeting with Ms Aitken, Daniel’s teacher. She was very positive. She’s seen a big change in Daniel’s attitude and motivation. As Amande knows, Daniel has come back each week now with praising letters from Ms Aitken.
We’re very pleased as she is working closely with us – so everyone’s on the same page. The plan is to continue with everything we’re doing: building Daniel’s confidence and ensuring his foundations are strong. Thank you again to both of you for your support. We really appreciate it, it’s making a huge difference.”
“Personal touch- great that you come and meet us (parents and child) and really try to find a tutor that ‘fits the bill’ both academically and personally. The session feedback reports are really useful for us to see how things are progressing. Really feel that our tutor wants the best for our son and that we are all working towards the same goal.. “

“There was a lot of time and consideration taken in the matching process. We were very keen to have a male tutor and are extremely pleased with Simon. The added advantage is that as Simon is a Year 5/6 teacher, he has all the know-how for our son who is in Year 5. We can definitely see the confidence boost it has given our son and the sense of achievement it brings. It also gives us as parents a chance to discuss any concerns with Simon as he knows the curriculum and what is expected of children in that year. Many thanks”
“Rachael has been a huge support to our son. He is really ready to tackle his Sats. Thank you Tutor Doctor!”
